At Home with Marvin Unger
We visited the stylist in his Munich apartment, where design pieces, colours, and unique finds create a charming artsy flair. The open living spaces are arranged around the kitchen and bathroom at the centre. Additionally, 10 metres of window space allow plenty of natural daylight to flood in.
'I believe that over the years, you experiment, and ideally, you get to know yourself and your style. You no longer work against it but rather with what truly matters to you.'
The Concept? No Concept!
Instead of a strict colour or material scheme, the stylist relies on true favourite pieces that, despite their eclectic mix, come together to create a harmonious whole.
'People always ask whether there’s a right or wrong when it comes to style. Well, yes and no. I believe there is harmony, something that many people can see and feel.'
Playful Minimalism
Throughout the flat, you'll find treasures and art objects cleverly displayed on pedestals, stools, and more. No matter where you look, there’s always something to discover.
Mix & Match
A mix of colourful chairs in distinctive shapes enhances the artsy look, creating an inviting atmosphere. The jute rug forms a natural frame, adding further texture to the overall style.
A found object and artwork in one – the steel wire with concrete pairs perfectly with the large STOFF Nagel candle holder.
The perfect spot for styling and photoshoots? The bedroom. Right by the window, there’s a beautifully minimalist corner bathed in natural light. The star of the show? The VELVET armchair by HKLIVING.
A place that invites you to relax. With its rather clean look, plush dark bedding and wooden elements add warmth. The PANTHELLA lamp by Louis Poulsen and the COMPONIBILI container by Kartell make bold style statements.
Cleverly planned
The integrated workspace in the bedroom, where Marvin's partner mainly works, can be completely concealed using the brown curtain.
Utility Flair
The kitchen is in shades of grey – from the floor to the shelves. The stainless steel kitchen island adds a highlight, beautifully reflecting the light. The corner with plants and mementoes creates a charming, natural contrast to the clean utility look.
